Women Beyond Borders II
Replacing commercial billboards with artworks by women artists, the exhibition transforms Times Square into a global stage for contemporary women’s art. Curated by Art Queens Gallery, the project reclaims one of the world’s most iconic advertising spaces, reaching millions in New York and worldwide.

As the exhibition unfolded across Times Square’s digital screens, the response from the public was immediate and visible. Passersby slowed their pace, stopped to watch, photographed the works, and pointed them out to one another. Journalists, photographers, and content creators documented the moment, capturing how contemporary art temporarily replaced commercial imagery at the heart of the city.
The exhibition quickly drew attention across media platforms and social channels, extending far beyond the physical site. Through livestream broadcasts, the artworks reached global audiences in real time. According to EarthCam data, presentations connected to the project have accumulated over 141 million registered livestream views, underscoring the scale of visibility and sustained public engagement generated by the exhibition.
For the participating artists, this exposure represented a rare and powerful experience — one that extended far beyond traditional exhibition formats and into the public imagination.
“I cannot express how surreal and amazing it was for me to see my art on the big screen in Times Square. Having my work presented on such a massive stage by a gallery that truly believes art can change people was a full-circle moment for me. It has not only catapulted my art career, but reaffirmed that I am doing what I was created to do.”
— Whitney Walker
“Seeing my work displayed in Times Square was both powerful and deeply affirming. As a woman artist, visibility in a space like this carries a special weight. This opportunity is not only a personal milestone, but a reminder of how important it is to create, take space, and be seen. Being part of Women Beyond Borders strengthens my belief in the power of women’s voices in art.”
— Jenny Brännmark
“This exhibition felt like a dream come true. A grateful feeling from the soul and heart.”
— Natalie Angel
“I’m so deeply honored. To feel my work read with such sensitivity and depth is incredibly meaningful. Grateful beyond words.”
— Yvonne Arvidsson
“Many thanks to everyone who supported me. I am proud and inspired — my art is now displayed in Times Square. This experience shows that dreams do come true and motivates me to keep reaching for more.”
— Mona MO.leo
Bringing together artists working across diverse visual languages and cultural backgrounds, the exhibition foregrounds plurality rather than uniformity. Painting, digital practices, and hybrid approaches coexist within a shared framework of visibility and recognition, allowing individual voices to stand out while contributing to a collective narrative.
Participating artists include Audacity Markoff, Chantell Van Erbé, Gala Mirissa, Jenny Brännmark, Lene Birch Vestergaard, Mona MO.leo, Natalie Angel, Nicole Junker, Paula Manole, Rosemary Burn, Simona Ray, Whitney Walker-Gill, and Yvonne Arvidsson.
As the exhibition continues, Women Beyond Borders II positions itself not as a temporary intervention, but as a sustained platform with growing cultural and professional impact. What began as a single initiative has evolved into an ongoing opportunity for women artists to gain visibility, recognition, and meaningful engagement on a truly global stage.
