Mamma Mia Museum è un progetto che nasce dall'osservazione da parte di una figlia di alcuni comportamenti della madre affetta da malattia di Alzheimer.
Lo spostamento di oggetti, la combinazione di elementi apparentemente distanti e altri strani accostamenti, vengono fermati con degli scatti fotografici veloci e furtivi, come necessità di trasformare e interpretare queste apparizioni come processi creativi e poetici piuttosto che come errori.
La condivisione sui social di questi scatti con il nome di Mamma Mia Museum, evidenziano la necessità di condividere con l'esterno queste fragilità che, attraverso il potere trasformativo dell'arte, acquistano una visibilità e una nuova forma.
Lavorando nel mondo dell'arte contemporanea, l'autrice di questo progetto si è vista costretta, agli inizi, a portarsi la madre al "lavoro", tra riunioni, inaugurazioni di mostre e allestimenti, pur di restare attaccata in qualche modo alla professione, fino a guardare con gli stessi occhi i gesti e le stramberie della madre per ritrovare le stesse poetiche ossessioni degli artisti.
Mammia Mia Museum sono quindi una serie di fotografie che vedono in alcuni momenti la mamma a mostre e musei e altri momenti domestici in cui alcuni spostamenti di oggetti sembrano realizzare opere d’arte.
La "famiglia dell'arte" intorno all'autrice ha da subito notato le potenzialità di queste immagini, stimolando la creazione di un progetto artistico dedicato.
La scritta Mamma Mia Museum è una Poetrick, dell'artista Stefano Calligaro, trasformata anche in una targa di ceramica da attaccare fuori dalla porta di casa, come l'ingresso di un vero e proprio museo.
Ad ogni immagine viene attribuito un titolo, una metafora della sfida all’imposibile che ogni giorno i caergiver sono costretti ad affrontare.
Dagli inizi della malattia della madre nel 2020 ha dovuto conciliare lavoro e accudimento, sentendo addosso tutto il peso che un familiare caregiver deve sopportare, tra burocrazia, affetti e cose pratiche da sbrigare. Il tempo per la vita privata è azzerato. Quello che resta lo si dedica al lavoro, per mantenere un reddito e un appiglio alla realtà.
Serena Becagli, (Firenze, 1973), vive e lavora a Signa (FI), è laureata in Fenomenologia degli Stili al DAMS di Bologna. Lavora nella promozione, produzione, curatela e comunicazione di mostre ed eventi culturali e nella redazione e coordinamento di progetti editoriali collaborando con varie realtà, gallerie, musei e spazi indipendenti.

A project that stems from a daughter's observation of certain behaviours of her mother affected by Alzheimer's disease .
The displacement of objects, the combination of seemingly distant elements, and other strange juxtapositions are captured with quick and furtive photographs, reflecting the need to transform and interpret these apparitions as creative and poetic processes rather than errors.
The sharing of these images on social media, under the name Mamma Mia Museum, highlights the need to share these fragilities with the outside world. Through the transformative power of art, they acquire visibility and a new form.

Working in the contemporary art world, the author of this project found herself forced, at the beginning, to bring her mother to "work," including meetings, exhibition openings, and installations,trying to remain somehow connected to her profession. She even started to observe her mother's gestures and eccentricities from the same point of view she used to interpret art works, rediscovering in her mother’s casual gestures the same poetic obsessions that drive artists to creation.
Mamma Mia Museum is therefore a series of photographs that sometimes show her mother at exhibitions and museums, and other domestic moments in which certain movements of objects seem to create works of art.
The "art family" surrounding the author immediately recognized the potential of these images, inspiring the creation of a dedicated artistic project.
The Mamma Mia Museum inscription is a Poetrick by artist Stefano Calligaro, also transformed into a ceramic plaque to hang outside the front door, like the entrance to a real museum.
Each image is given a title and a caption as if it was a real work of art.
Since her mother's illness began in 2020, Becagli has had to balance work and caregiving, feeling the full weight of a family caregiver, including bureaucracy, family, and the practicalities of life. She has no time for private life. What's left is dedicated to work, to maintain an income and a foothold in reality.
Serena Becagli, (Florence, 1973), lives and works in Signa (FI). She holds a degree in Phenomenology of Styles from the DAMS (University of Bologna) and works in the promotion, production, curation, and communication of exhibitions and cultural events, as well as in the drafting and coordination of editorial projects, collaborating with various organizations, galleries, museums, and independent spaces.
