Si inaugura a Roma mercoledì 19 marzo 2014 la personale di Antonio Tamburro curata da Kasper Van Aalten presso la 6° Senso Art Gallery di via dei Maroniti 13 (Largo del Tritone).
La mostra presenta una serie di nuove tele che l’artista ha creato in formati di medie e grandi dimensioni, confermando un suo personale percorso artistico in cui la pittura mai viene meno, cedendo a lusinghe concettuali o ad altri mezzi espressivi che l’arte contemporanea ha fagocitato. Definito agli inizi del Nuovo Millennio “Il solitario della pittura” (mensile “Arte Mondadori”, 2002) Tamburro ama una pittura in cui segno, energia, colore, movimento fungono da coadiuvanti elementi empedoclei. Nell’arte che ne deriva tradizione artistica e maestria esecutiva riescono a fondersi in uno stile vigoroso e dinamico e a dar vita a una visione prettamente metropolitana della società moderna, soprattutto nella produzione di questi ultimi anni. I suoi temi preferiti sono infatti le folle anonime delle grandi città, i personaggi femminili immortalati in solitarie pose o in gruppi disgregati, le sagome di automobili stipate in una corsa frenetica di matrice futurista.
Guardando un’opera di Tamburro avvertiamo la lezione dell’insigne arte passata, ma non un nome si impone sugli altri se non quello di colui che l’ha concepita: Antonio Tamburro.
Uno stile che ha maturato nel tempo quella caratteristica distintiva dei grandi artisti: la riconoscibilità, pur nella continua sperimentazione del linguaggio figurativo lungo un arco di oltre quaranta anni di carriera. L’imponente tela “Walking across the street” (200x200cm), ultima sua creazione, riassume con il singolare taglio prospettico tutta la bellezza e la forza della pittura di questo artista. La sua arte ci avvolge freneticamente con quella pennellata sicura eppur veloce, costruendo immagini dai colori forti e raschianti che nel seguire la gestualità quasi impulsiva dell’autore delineano figure e scenari di indelebile intensità.



On the 19th of March 2014 a solo exhibition of works by Antonio Tamburro, curated by Kasper Van Aalten, will be staged at the 6° Senso Art Gallery in Via dei Maroniti 13, near the Trevi Fountain.
The event presents a series of new paintings that the artist has created in both medium and large sizes, which confirm his own personal artistic path in which the painting never lacks giving in to conceptual lure or other means of expression that contemporary art has embodied.
Defined at the beginning of the New Millennium as "the loner of painting" (by the monthly magazine "Arte Mondadori", 2002), Tamburro loves painting where sign, energy, color, movement act like his supplement for the four elements of Empedocles. In the artistic result, tradition and mastery of the work can blend harmoniously in a dynamic and vigorous style creating a metropolitan vision of modern society, especially in his productions of recent years. His favorite subjects are the anonymous crowds of big cities, the female characters immortalized in solitary poses or in disaggregated groups, and the shape of cars crammed into a frantic rush of futuristic origin.
When looking at a work of Tamburro we feel the lesson of illustrious past art, but no name is imposed over others except for that of he who conceived it: Antonio Tamburro .
Over time his style has developed the distinctive feature of great artists, being recognized by their works, despite the continuous experimentation of figurative language during a career of more than forty -years. The imposing canvas titled "Walking across the street (200x200cm)" is his latest creation that, using a unique perspective cut, sums up all the beauty and strength of painting of this artist. His art surrounds us frantically with a brushstroke secure but fast and creates images by strong and brilliant scraped colors that outline figures and scenarios of indelible intensity, following the almost impulsive gestures of the author.
