La---Linea Gallery presents “Art for Kikko: Serious & Significant Works” featuring paintings and prints by Daryl Bergman, Ashlee Ferlito, and E. Brooke Lanier. The exhibition will run from February 18th through February 27th. The opening will take place on Thursday evening February 18th from 6:00 pm. The gallery is located at Via di San Martino ai Monti 46
Daryl Bergman
Daryl Bergman is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and is currently working towards her Masters of Fine Arts in Printmaking at Tyler School of Art in Rome. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Intermedia from Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. Bergman studied abroad at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy in 2005 and 2006, and she recently completed a residency in Printmaking at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. In addition to having worked in New York’s Neue and Sara Melzter galleries, Bergman is an accomplished artist and her paintings and prints have been featured in exhibitions across the country in Portland, Las Vegas and New York and internationally in Florence, and Rome.
Ashlee Ferlito
Ashlee Ferlito is a first-year Masters of Fine Arts candidate at the Tyler School of Art. Ashlee received her B.A. with distinction from Yale University, where she was the winner of the Ethel Childe-Walker Prize. She is a three-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshileds Grant. She has studied at the Cyprus College of Art, in Lemba, Cyprus and at Studio Escalier, Argenton, France. She recently completed a residency at the Vermont Studio Center in Johston, Vermont. Before traveling to Rome, Ashlee called San Francisco home, where she regularly exhibited her work in both group and solo exhibitions.
Brooke Lanier
Brooke Lanier received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Since graduating she has exhibited her paintings, drawings, and prints across the United States. In 2007 she received 2nd award in Volkswagen and VSA arts' "DRIVEN: Competition for Emerging Artists with Disabilites." She was given a grant and had her work displayed in the Smithsonian Institute and the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. before going on a two-year tour of the US. (The work featured in this exhibition related to Lanier's visual impairment.)
Brooke Lanier is a graduate student at Temple University's Tyler School of Art and is pursuing her Masters of Fine Arts degree in Painting. You can see a wide variety of her work from the last 8 years at brookelanier.com.
