Comunicato stampa
Segnala l'evento
Knowledge and information technology, means of communication and media are playing a very important role in bringing earth's inhabitants closer.
In spite of our recognition to many privileges presented by this tremendous scientific progress, yet it reveals daily the extreme contradiction between cultures representing humanity. It also reveals the weakness of spirituality that controls peoples humanity.
The cold war between east and west has ended many years ago, but it seems that the means of ending it and settling its results have induced and cultivated many events that targeted the nobler and most beautiful side in man.
The way of ending this war affected negatively man's nature, innocence and will beside intrusion of religious cultures in this cursed political strife.
The contemporary human being is living a sharp and unique contradiction between an amazing scientific progress and recognized regression on the human, spiritual and ethical side.
The world is now living the problem of simultaneous scientific association and spiritual and cultural dissociation.
The Egyptian pavilion in The 52 nd Venice Biennial adapts a concept connected to this cultural dilemma "Egypt … sources of civilization and junction of cultures" through a collective work of 6 young Egyptian artists; Hadeel, Sahar, Ayman El Semary, George Fakry and Tarek El Komy.
These artists are closely living the world states around and are deeding with cultural elements that form their sentiments and conscience. They adapted the intellectual concept of the pavilion which regards Egypt the place where the first endeavor of identification and differentiation of human conscience have taken place and the primary and unique center of receiving cults, cultures and civilizations since more than five thousand years.
Egypt has friendly received prophets Ibrahm, Joseph, Moses and Jesus peace be upon them and established in Alexandria a variant society that embraced Roman and Greek cultures together with ancient Egyptian culture.
Also, it blended and created homogeneity between Jewish, Christian and Islamic cultures.
The six artists are adapting Egypt's old civilizational message and they agreed upon giving art a positive attitude. They agreed upon receiving the positive and forgiving aspects in Egypt's soul and its Spiritual warmth to re-spread on contemporary Egyptians and the whole world. This Installed work in the Egyptian Pavilion has the group and the individual efforts.
They inspire the good, cheerful and hopeful deeds, the one invoked by wisdom and braveness of the disposition. The Egyptian pavilion has arrived bearing a future message that contributes in resurrection of trust among different cultures and ensuring the connection between past, present and future The artists brought with them from Cairo, Alexandria and Giza thousands of significant material pieces to form and construct this huge work, that is huge in tits meaning, the message it delivers and that embraces much passion and melancholy.
