Segnala l'evento
Opening 6-7 maggio 2021
Per partecipare all’opening, prenotare a curvapura@gmail.com e indicare una fascia d'orario ( as esempio 19:00-19:30), per aiutarci a gestire il numero di persone ed evitare assembramenti.

Curva Pura is pleased to present the personal exhibition of Flaminia Celata, a roman visual artist, who in "IO sono memoria" showcase an unpublished and articulated work entirely site specific. The gallery opens a discussion on the theme of human memory, in particular on the loss of memory, investigating some systems, such as "sensory memory" and "spatial memory", and questioning the changeability of memory. A circular project that brings together unpublished works of video art, sculpture, photography and performance combined in a single flow of visual narration at Curva Pura.
The work was born about four years ago from the need to exorcise a painful family experience that the artist chooses to face through a broad investigation into the complex mystery of the functioning of memory, in which starting from scientific, historical and art of memory studies , comes to deepen the theme of the link between identity and memory and the importance of forgetting.
Each work on display has a dual value and represents in a metaphorical key some aspects concerning the functioning mechanisms of memory and, as in the video "The act of remembering and forgetting", plays on the fragile balance between remembering and the physiological need to forget , to allow the mind not to be crowded with superfluous memories. The maximum synthesis between process, sharing, memory, participation and aesthetics is found in the work Madeleine, an imaginative sculpture and tangible heart of the project, material / object that embodies that I / body / subject that the artist lends to all the identities represented. from the threads recomposed in a new possible form. Effort he takes on and a symbolic gesture that seeks a union between wanting to hold back and learning to let go. And then that I (I am memory) affirms and at the same time transcends the personal, becoming a tool for questioning the role of memory in the life of each individual.
Jorge Luis Borges wrote: “We are our memory, / we are this chimerical museum of inconstant forms, / this heap of broken mirrors”. And among these broken mirrors, every human being tries, often in vain, to leave a trace, a sign. And to remember this, visitors will be invited to "shape" a work, confronting the concepts of collective memory and the impossibility of retaining information that passes fleetingly through the brain, only to vanish. I am memory is an attempt to visualize and give shape to answers that escape, so volatile as to be confused with questions but so alive as to stop the moment and live it for the meaning we choose to give it.
During the exhibition there will be a performance by the artist "Who are you memory?" which will be held on 6-7 May and 6 June 2021 at 20.00.
The exhibition will be open by appointment until 6 June 2021 by writing to curvapura@gmail.com in order to ensure compliance with the regulations regarding the containment of Covid 19.
