La Sassonia-Anhalt policentrica
Dibattito con esperti provenienti
da Germania, Italia, Paesi Bassi e Russia
Comunicato stampa
Segnala l'evento

Saxony-Anhalt
polycentric
Regions in
Transformation
The state of Saxony-Anhalt came into being in its present form upon German reunification.
Since then, this young state has changed dramatically and undergone an immense transformation
process. Systemic and structural change were followed by demographic change, a policy
of growth was followed by a paradigm shift: the focus is on what really matters, qualitative
instead of quantitative growth. _ To tackle to the problem of overdevelopment the state has
pursued a culture of planning and building that allows for unconventional and experimental
models. It tapped into its potential and zeroed in on certain elements in urban planning. _
20 years of Saxony-Anhalt is reason enough to take stock of the development of the state’s architectural
culture and the opening of the 12th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice is certainly occasion
enough to engage in discussions with experts from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Russia and an international
audience. _ The event will focus on the question of to what extent polycentric strategies in regions that have
experienced extreme change both inside and outside of Europe offer possibilities for sustainable urban development.
Can “Saxony-Anhalt:polycentric” serve as a model for other regions of Europe or even beyond its borders?

potenziale e ponendo alcuni punti fermi in campo urbanistico.
