LdM Gallery è lieta di presentare la mostra Wildfires dello scultore Oliviero Draghi. Nelle sue opere Draghi si orienta prendendo spunto dall'ambito familiare e personale, per poi sviluppare sculture di stili e materiali anche differenti, con uno sguardo attento alla tradizione.
Solitamente l’ispirazione si accende stando insieme alle persone più intime: familiari, colleghi e amici, come se da un luogo sicuro partisse una piccola scintilla provocando un incendio che cresce, si propaga e prende forma uscendo da questo contesto familiare. Questo modo di creare è compreso anche nel titolo della mostra Wildfires, i roghi che nascono, crescono e che anche se l’artista non può essere completamente sicuro della loro direzione, vanno domati, formati, assecondati prima di raggiungere una forza distruttiva. Le forme e idee arrivate durante questi incontri vengono poi realizzate da Draghi con vari materiali: creta, gesso, legno, bronzo. L’artista spesso usa materiali diversi, dando la sensazione di una lesione da riparare, ma allo stesso tempo di un’apertura che permette la crescita e sviluppo del soggetto o del rapporto con esso.

Oliviero Draghi è socio fondatore dell'Associazione Culturale Campucc10. Studia al Liceo Artistico e al Chelsea College of Art & Design e si laurea in Scultura all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze.
Accanto alla pratica artistica svolge attività didattica presso istituzioni italiane e internazionali e dal 2015 cura un laboratorio di ceramica nella Casa Circondariale M. Gozzini di Firenze.
La sua ricerca nasce dall'incontro con persone, luoghi ed esperienze che compongono la sua vita quotidiana. Attraverso la scultura osservazione, memoria e materia si intrecciano, mentre relazioni, affetti e trasformazioni entrano nel lavoro e ne orientano il percorso, mantenendo vivo il confronto con l’arte del passato.

LdM Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition Wildfires by the sculptor Oliviero Draghi. Draghi's work draws inspiration from family and personal experiences, developing sculptures in a variety of styles and materials, with a keen eye for tradition.
Inspiration typically ignites through close contact with family, colleagues, and friends, as if a small spark was ignited from a safe place, catching a fire that grows, spreads, and takes shape beyond this familiar context. This creative approach is also captured in the title of the exhibition, Wildfires, the blazes that arise and grow, and which, even if the artist cannot be completely sure of their direction, must be tamed, shaped, and supported before reaching destructive force. The forms and ideas generated during these encounters are then crafted by Draghi using various materials: clay, plaster, wood, and bronze. The artist often uses different materials, giving the sensation of a wound in need of repair, but at the same time of an opening that allows the growth and development of the subject or the relationship with it.
Oliviero Draghi is a founding member of the Campucc10 Cultural Association. He studied at the Liceo Artistico and the Chelsea College of Art & Design, and graduated in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
Alongside his artistic practice, he teaches at Italian and international institutions and has been curating a ceramics workshop at the M. Gozzini prison in Florence since 2015.
His research stems from encounters with the people, places, and experiences that make up his daily life. Through sculpture, observation, memory, and material intertwine, while relationships, affections, and transformations enter the work and guide its path, maintaining a lively dialogue with the art of the past.
