Museum Image and Museum Studio are the first dedicated meeting place in Italy for professionals working in this exciting and challenging field. The event will take place over four days in the Centro Affari e Convegni of Arezzo, and will unite under one roof all of the key players, organisations and individuals in museum merchandising and marketing.

di

Museum Image and Museum Studio offer four days of both a commercial and a cultural character, bringing together the best objects, ideas and marketing initiatives in the international museum world today. The target audience is the commercial world, wholesale and retail outlets, distributors and the institutions that are professionally interested in developing partnerships for a better service. The conferences and workshops of the Museum Studio will challenge audiences to find new solutions by sharing best practices.
Come and visit the first Italian event that is specifically dedicated to merchandising , and discover the world of the creation, manufacturing and distribution of heritage related objects .
You will find, at the same time, the most updated proposals regarding technics, services and products for museums and cultural sites.

MUSEUM IMAGE

Each of the sections below will have its own dedicated space fitted out to the highest standards. The themes chosen, objects, spaces, organisations and suppliers, reflect the richness and diversity of the exhibitors.

1. Objects
Dedicated to the very best in museum retailing, this section offers an opportunity to see examples of merchandising, and to meet specialists in the sector – an opportunity for producers, distributors, shops, fairs, specialised publications and designers to show their work and develop new collaborations.

2. Spaces
Museums and cultural sites will have an opportunity to present their buildings and spaces, their cultural treasures and their ideas for new products, as well as negotiating the copyright to their images and objects. As the meeting place of the professional museum world, both public and private organisations, large and small organisations, tourist and leisure promoters will have a chance to sell themselves and their skills.

3. Organisers
In a competitive world the style and image of exhibitions and the quality of the technical services are the key elements of success. Service providers in the fields of lighting, signage, educational services, printing and presentation will display the most up to date and successful material and approaches in the international environment.

4. Suppliers
Value-added services are the key to successful museum management. The number and variety of such museum suppliers are greater every year. This section will bring together everyone from restaurant services to press and communication agencies, cleaning to transport and security.

MUSEUM STUDIO

Alongside the commercial networking, Museum Studio is a series of conferences and workshops on museum merchandising, communications and marketing. Museum Studio offers a more reflective environment for discussion, and cultural investigation of the objects, themes and challenges presented in Museum Image.

Conference of museum merchandising
This will examine the whole range of technical and legal issues under the umbrella of the term “museum merchandising”. The Conference on Museum Merchandising will focus on the report of the legal and technical situation in Italy for merchandising, and use this as a starting point for a general debate on improving the potential for merchandising in Italian museums. The first study of the effect of the Ronchey Law, specially commissioned for this event by the organisers from Nomisma, the Bologna based research agency, will be presented.

Forum “Museums and Publics”
European Museum Directors will discuss collateral themes to merchandising, such as marketing, audience development and the cross-overs between education and marketing. The aim is to educate, promote and communicate a new model through the exchange of ideas and best practice at local and international level. The debate will explore the successes and challenges in growing audiences, responding to their needs and providing an overall service. Some of the themes covered will be marketing, information and communication, new technologies and educational services as a marketing tool.

Conference
“Museum Network: Planning and development”
Promoted with the collaboration of the Administrative Council for Cultural Affairs of the Province of Arezzo. The debate involves Councillors, Managers and Consultants. The intention is to discuss the provincial Museum networks situation, especially those in Tuscany.

Technical services meeting
An encounter with the providers, producers and project designers at the forefront of diverse fields including lighting, exhibition layout, transport, signage, insurance, maintenance.
